Keeping track of those other tasks
During the day, you might need to do some activities that don’t require Zendesk. Whether it’s a project, a meeting, or just a break (yay coffee) that time should also be tracked.
We’ve got you covered! Your manager has probably created some useful General Tasks just for this purpose. All you need to do is select the General Task that applies to your activity before you start.
When you come back to Zendesk, you won’t need to do anything. You’ll automatically be clocked out from the task the moment you start to work on a ticket, chat, or call.
- Forget to clock into a General Task? If you didn’t log that coffee break (we get it – sometimes you’re in a rush), just let your manager know. They can update your info for you.
- If you are working on a ticket and need to take a break before you’re finished solving it, you need to open that ticket again after your break (even if you leave it up on your screen). Otherwise, Tymeshift will still track your time as being on break. To do this, just switch to Ticket View and then select that ticket again – Tymeshift will then track it as usual.
- If you’re working on a specific project and don’t find any corresponding tasks to clock into, let your manager know. It’s useful feedback, and they can create a new one easily.
